RE: Opinions Wanted

We had the same ???'s to ponder when we got our A. We ended up with a gasser for the lesser cost and we knew that this would not be the coach that we retire in. Although the diesel will cost less in fuel, that is offset with higher maint. costs overall, plus I can do my own maint on the gasser. We were looking at what we were going to use it for. We take 1 or 2 long trips a year and use the MoHo at least 1 weekend a month. To us the cost difference wasnt worth it to go diesel this time. JMHO.

We wont make Calico this year, to many other projects to complete before the winter gets here. The foundation is poured for the new garage and the slab is suposed to be poured this coming week. This was all suposed to be done while we were gome!

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

Well we made it back home.......................I think that I will fly the kids out next time, and use my vacation time for MY vacation! All in all it was a good trip, to much driving and not enough sight-seeing. We are planning our next trip already. We averaged 7.7 mpg for the trip pulling the CR-V, not to bad. I did find out that we get our best mileage at around 62-65 mph. The moho performed flawlessly throughout the trip, but I think that we will add some sway bars to it in the near future, along with Koni shocks.

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

We are still in Oregon with the kids, just got back from Troy, our map program took us down an 11 mile GOAT TRAIL to get there. It was a single lane gravel road cut out of the side of the mountain. I'd say a 6 to 8 percent downgrade the whole time with at least 15 switchbacks! If you want to see the road its called Redmond Grade Lane between Flora and Troy Oregon. We will be leaving tomorrow morning to head home, via Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and then Cali.

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

Hello all, we are presently in Issaquah RV park in Issaquah, WA. The weather is cold dreary and humid, but is supposed to be sunny this afternoon. We are visiting friends and relatives in the area and will be leaving in the morning, on the way to Oregon to see the kids. Yeah, but are you having fun yet? :) We will started having fun today and will continue till the end of our vacation. The 1300 miles in 3 days was alittle much. I think tha next year we will take 4 or 5 day to get this far, and see more things on the way.

RE: Problem with 7 Pin

We found the same thing when we tried to install a brake controller on our Ford F53 chassis. All the wires were in the loom on the chassis, and all the wires were in the trailer harness loom. For some reason the #2 (10 ga blue wire) was folded back and taped in each of the harnesses. I called Winnebago to ask why it was the only wire in the combination not connected. Their reply was that wire is connected by the dealer only if the customer asks to have a trailer brake controller installed. I'll bet if you do a little more searching you'll find both wires are there, just not connected together. I will check when we come back from our vacation.

RE: Problem with 7 Pin

The house battery rather than the alternator?????? The alternator is 36 feet from the hitch, since the house batteries charge off the alternator while the engine is running there is no reason to run a wire to the front of the coach.

RE: Help, thinking of buying a 30 ft class A gas

We have a 34' HR with the workhorse chassis and run around 8.5 mpg average most of the time. We run around 58 mph and tow either a CR-V or a Ranger with the Harley in the bed.

RE: Problem with 7 Pin

Well I traced the harness this morning and the wire was not hooked up to anything! It is now a battery power tha is hooked up to the house battery bank, which charges the toad.

RE: dinghy towing

If your transfercase has a neutral position it should be ok, but I'd check with Toyota to make sure.

Problem with 7 Pin

OK, I have no 12V battery power on my round 7 pin and I have talked to Monaco and they said that its a workhorse installed item. So where is the fuse that suppies that connector? I believe that it hasnt had power since we bought the unit, but this is the first time I've checked it. I was trying to wire a toad charge wire up to the Honda using it. Does anyone know where I need to look?

RE: Anaheim Rally April 17-19 2009

We are still "getting ready" for our vacation in a week. The even brake arrived today and will be installed this weekend along with added towing lights in the Honda's tailights. We spent the tonight going through the inside of the MoHo and removeing what we dont need for the trip. Man, it seems that work is never done! If it's like our trips, wait until you get home and have to unload all the stuff you acquire along the way. :) Have a great time. OH believe me................I know
